What it does
- Screens companies against sanctions, PEP, watchlist, and debarment sources.
- Looks up company/KYB records via the GLEIF LEI registry.
- Adds directors and ownership context to inform due diligence.
- Records each check as retrievable evidence with a request ID.
What it does not do
- Does not replace a full corporate registry filing or company formation check in every jurisdiction.
- Does not certify a company as legitimate or guarantee its standing.
- Does not provide legal or compliance advice.
Use the dashboard first. Integrate the API when ready.
Screen a company by name in the dashboard, review matches and ownership context, and export the record.
POST a company name with type 'company', then enrich with GLEIF/LEI and ownership endpoints. SDKs for Python, Node.js, Go, and Rust.
curl -X POST https://api.verifex.dev/v1/screen \
-H "Authorization: Bearer vfx_your_api_key" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name": "Acme Trading Ltd", "type": "company"}'Each company check produces a record of what was screened, which sources matched, the GLEIF/LEI data referenced, a timestamp, and a request ID — kept distinct from risk records so you can show the difference between a sanctions hit and a company-data lookup.

Frequently asked questions
What is a KYB API?
A KYB (Know Your Business) API lets you verify and screen companies programmatically — checking them against sanctions and watchlist sources and referencing company data such as GLEIF/LEI records, directors, and ownership.
What company data does Verifex use?
Verifex references the GLEIF LEI registry for company/KYB records and supports ownership relationships for UBO context. Company records are kept distinct from risk records (sanctions, PEP, watchlists).
Does KYB include beneficial ownership?
Verifex provides ownership context and UBO traversal with OFAC 50% rule logic. See the UBO screening API for the ownership-graph workflow.
Is a clear company result a guarantee?
No. A clear result means no match was found in screened sources at screening time. Verifex provides screening infrastructure and data-derived results, not legal or compliance advice.
